The School of Performing Arts was founded in 1967 on the belief that exposure to the arts is a gift that enriches all our lives. We believe that family involvement is an integral part of the exposure to the arts.
Research has proven that exercise, at an early age, offers lifetime benefits. Using the medium of dance, we strive to nurture direction, instill self esteem and promote accomplishment. Students are encourage to develop their own creative personalities within the framework of the discipline that dance requires.
In addition, they form enduring friendships as they explore the natural love and fun of dance. Whether they intend to pursue a professional career or simply dance for their own enjoyment, our students have an opportunity to receive a complete dance education. They can audition for placement in Ballet South or Ballet South Junior Companies that are based in our school, as well as, our annual Nutcracker for dancers 8 years or older studying ballet. The joy and satisfaction of dance becomes an integral part of every individual that experiences it.
